Week 2 - Basic Animations
Worked through Blender tutorials for bones and rigging and then worked on some basic animations. I overlooked the detail that we were supposed to model someone at a tourist site and instead modelled a mandragora (reference). Attaching each bone to the model was fairly simple, but when it came to weighting the automatic options didn't work. I eventually painted on the weighting manually, but I couldn't stop the thighs from warping everywhere, which made animating walking difficult. I did get his arms and feet moving, and using the dope sheet to move/copy/delete animations was intuitive, so I created an animation of the mandragora balancing on one foot.
There is also a very basic animation of it walking (if you look closely the feet are moving so I think I succeed on a technicality).
